Introducing the TED project
The Democracy & Culture Foundation is now engaged in a new Erasmus+ funded project titled TED (Teaching Environmental Democracy), which brings together four partners to cooperate in building a common training program on environmental democracy through the application of deliberative democracy instruments (students’ assembly). The teaching module will be included in the curricula of each academic partner and will lead to the issuance of a joint certification. The curriculum includes a mandatory period of mobility for students so as to allow them to gain insights of different ecosystems' unique needs and natural resources, as part of the requirements to complete their path towards environmental democracy.
In this endeavor, launched on December 31st, 2025, DCF is partnering with the Institut Catholique de Lyon, the University of Salento and the Center for European Union Studies. The project will develop over 12 months in four countries—France, Italy, Belgium and Greece. Preliminary results will be presented to a global audience during the annual Athens Democracy Forum conference, organized by DCF in association with the New York Times. This year’s ADF will take place from September 29 to October 2, 2026.
