Caucus of Parliamentarians

The Caucus of Parliamentarians is a key component of the Athens Democracy Forum, bringing together a diverse group of Members of Parliament from across political parties and countries to engage in focused, solution-oriented discussions on today’s most pressing democratic challenges.

Selected based on their expertise and areas of work, participating MPs collaborate through targeted workshops and deliberative sessions designed to encourage the exchange of experiences, best practices and policy ideas. The process culminates in concrete recommendations and actionable outcomes, which are presented to the wider Forum audience.

2026 EDITION: From AI Awareness to Adaptive Politics

Co-hosted by the Better Politics Foundation and the Democracy & Culture Foundation, the 2026 Parliamentary Caucus brings together cross-party lawmakers and senior parliamentary staff from across regions to explore how democratic institutions can adapt to an era shaped by artificial intelligence, rapid technological change, and declining public trust.

Τhis year’s Caucus shifts the conversation from “what AI is doing to politics” to how parliaments and political leaders can use AI responsibly, effectively and democratically. Through a highly interactive workshop format, participants will engage with practical tools, leadership frameworks and institutional strategies designed to support more responsive, evidence-based and future-ready governance.

Sessions combine hands-on collaboration, policy development and peer exchange, covering topics such as leadership in the AI era, parliamentary AI governance, institutional readiness, generative AI tools for parliamentary work and the implementation of international AI guidelines for parliaments.
