Basil Gavalas is a Forbes 30 Under 30 entrepreneur dedicated to building bridges and advancing democracy across the emerging world.
A member of the leadership council of the Democracy and Culture Foundation since 2021, he also serves on the 20-member Advisory Board of the Platform for African Democrats, alongside former heads of state and senior political leaders from across the globe. He is the vice president of the Hellenic–Iraqi Business Council (which he co-founded with MEP Nikos Papandreou), an elected member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and sits on the Strategy Council of DIKTIO, one of Greece’s leading public policy think tanks.
A lawyer by training and a published poet, Basil has previously served as a senior political advisor with the greek government, as well as advisor to multiple international think tanks and institutions focused on strategy and governance.
