Eric Xun Li is a Chinese venture capitalist, political scientist and commentator. He is the founder and managing partner of Chengwei Capital, a Shanghai-based firm that has invested over $2 billion in sectors including technology, healthcare, and media, supporting several unicorns such as Hellobike and WM Motor. In 2011, he founded Guancha.cn, a digital media platform with a nationalist editorial focus.
Li holds a B.A. in economics from UC Berkeley, an MBA from Stanford, and a Ph.D. in political science from Fudan University. He serves on boards and advisory councils of institutions including CEIBS, Stanford, the RISC-V International Association, and several cultural organizations. A prolific writer, his work appears in publications such as Foreign Affairs, The New York Times and the Economist, and he is the author of ''Party Life: Chinese Governance and the World Beyond Liberalism.''
